Udupi, Nov 20: The four-day ‘Deepotsav’ celebration began with religious fervour at the Sri Krishna Mutt, here, on Thursday November 18.

‘Tulsi Puja’ and other religious celebrations were held at Sri Krishna Mutt, early morning. Swami Laxmivarateerta of Shiroor Mutt led the placing of ‘diyas’ around the temple complex and on the Rath Beedi.

The rains that lashed the area in the evening disrupted the lighting of diyas and caused hindrance to thousands of devotees who had arrived to offer Tulsi Puja and take part in the Deepotsav celebrations

The temple deity Lord Krishna was worshiped at Madwa Sarovar in the temple complex by the Swamijis. The Deepotsav will conclude on Sunday November 21.
