Sullia, Nov 20: Enraged over the action of the party leadership in handing over the post of the Sullia block president of the Congress party to lawyer, M Venkappa Gowda, those who are opposing this move met in the town on Friday November 19.
The meeting was presided over Radhakrishna Bollur, president of Amaramudnoor village. He also happens to be the president of Kissan Congress.
Addressing the meeting, one of the aspirants of the post, former zilla panchayat member, Dhananjaya Adpangaya, questioned the party leadership on what basis did it decide on Venkappa Gowda, who he said, had joined hands with the BJP, a party of defectors and communalists, with an eye on power.
Leaders like Coir Board member, T M Shahid, youth Congress president, Harish Rai, taluk panchayatr member, Somashekhar Koingaje, minority unit president, Mohammed Kunhi Goonadka, S Samshuddin, and a number of other leaders were present.
