Brahmavar, Dec 2: Rotary Brahmavar conducted its 221st free monthly mental health check up camp at Community health center Brahmavar here on Wednesday, December 1.
To mark the Golden jubilee celebration of Rotary Brahmavar, there was free blood pressure and diabetes health check camp held to all candidates along with regular mental health check up.
Rtn Sadashiva Shetty and Rekha Sadashiva Shetty and their family sponsored the camp. The free mental health check up, regular camp was led by well known psychiatric Dr P V Bhandary and team. More than 300 people were participated and benefited from this camp.
In his address, Dr P V Bhandary said, "Rotary Club Brahmavar is doing a great job. I would like to congratulate the efforts being made by Rotary. We have done many awareness campaigns in various local education institutions with the support of Rotary club. We have started Bandhu Day Care center in Udupi for mentally ill patients and here in Brahmavar, we started Abhaya Day Care center and residential care. There is scarce of rehabilitation center, but from this month we have started rehabilitation facility for the out patients at Baliga hospital".
"People who are jobless, will face mental illness. Hence, we are providing free training for handicrafts. We got approval for the start-up of four kidney dialysis unit. All these were made possible with the support of Rotary club Brahmavar. This camp is not just for consultation but also creating awareness, treatment and rehabilitation", he added
Professor Dr Anand Shetty, USA, Ajith Kumar Shetty, Brahmavar Community center and Sadashiv Shetty were the guests of occasion.
Satish Shetty, Rotary secretary, Padmanabh Kanchan, assistant governor, Uday Kumar Shetty, A B Shetty, Prashanth Shetty, Walter Cyril Pinto, Reksan and others were present on the dais.
Rotary club Brahmavar is been serving since 19 years and providing selfless service for poor and needy people. Rotary president Rtn Harish Kundar welcomed the gathering. Sweets were distributed to all who were present on the camp.
