Udupi, Nov 19: Former President of India, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, will be inaugurating the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) conference to be held at Manipal from December 17 to 19. He will also deliver a lecture on the occasion, informed the coordinator of science services of IPC and principal of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof N Udupa, at a press conference held here on Thursday November 18.
“Already, about 7,000 delegates have confirmed their participation. We have already booked rooms in most of the hotels from Mangalore to Kundapur for the purposes by paying advance,” he said.
He revealed that 3,200 essays will be presented in 12 sessions spread over this three-day conference. On December 17, in addition to inaugural, achievers in pharmaceutical sector will be felicitated, and a Pharma Expo exhibition is being held in association with the Indian Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he added. This exhibition will be inaugurated by Dr B R Shetty, managing director of New Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi.
Media spokesperson, Dr Gopal Kutty, organizing secretary, Dr Mallikarjun and president of the registration committee, Dr Srinivas Reddy were present at the press conference.
