Chikkaballapur, Nov 27: JD(S) leader, H D Kumaraswamy, broke his silence at last on the claims of the Congress leaders that the BJP and the JD(S) leaders have entered into a secret understanding in constituencies where the JD(S) has not fielded a candidate, and also Yediyurappa's request to the(S) for support.
Speaking to media persons on Friday November 26, he said that Yediyurappa's request for support in the council election is a courtesy move from a politician and that his party will soon take a decision on the same. He said that particularly in the north Karnataka region, JD(S) can influence the outcome of the election. "In six out of 25 constituencies there, our candidates have been fielded. Yediyurappa has openly sought our support. I have also noted what chief minister, Basavaraj Bommai, has, said on this issue. In the coming days, based on the attitude of these two parties, we will decide on whom to support," he stated.
Kumaraswamy said that his party can influence the outcome in 17 to 18 constituencies and that the two parties will be in peril if they overlook the JD(S). He asked the rival parties to stop speaking irresponsibly about his party.
