Mangalore, Nov 13: Addressing a review meeting of Mangalore City Corporation here on Friday November 12, DC Subodh Yadav warned that water theft will attract heavy penalty in case anybody has illegal water connections.
Paying the water bill to the Mangalor City Corporation (MCC) becomes responsibility of every citizen. Failure of the same will lead to loss to MCC and this would adversely cause to the development of the city, he added. He set a deadline to report the illegal water connection at the earliest.
He also told the MCC officials to install metre system to the poor, so that water can be saved in a larger quantity. He also reviewed the water supply system under MCC and three steps of water purification in Tumbe.
He said poor people can easily get water connection under “Jala Bhagya” scheme.
MCC Commissioner Dr KN Vijaya Prakash was present.
