Bangalore: CM Effects Changes in District-in-charge Ministers


Bangalore, Nov 12 (PTI): Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today effected changes in the district-in-charge ministers by shifting Food Minister V Somanna from Hassan to Tumkur and giving the charge of Chikkaballapur to Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje, who was reluctant to head Tumkur.

While Yeddyurappa continues to be in charge of Shimoga district, his home turf, Govind Karjol will be in charge of Bagalkot, V S Acharya (Udupi), C M Udasi (Haveri) R Ashok (Bangalore City South Constituency and Mandya), an official release said.

S A Ravindranath will be in charge of Davanagere, Janardhana Reddy (Bellary), Visweshwara Hegde Kageri (Uttara Kannada), Karunakara Reddy (Chitradurga), B N Bacchegowda (Bangalore Rural and Ramanagara), Basavaraj Bommai (Gulbarga), Jagadish Shettar (Dharwad), Revunaik Belamagi (Bidar) and J Krishna Palemar (Dakshina Kannada).

Murugesh Nirani will be in charge of Bijapur Katta Subramanya Naidu (Bangalore city North constituencies), C H Vijayashankar (Kodagu and Chamarajangar), A Narayanaswamy (Kolar), A Ramadas (Mysore) C C Patil (Gadag) Laxman Savadi Koppal), S Sureshkumar (Chikmagaur), and M P Renukacharya (Hassan).Yeddyurappa also allocated some ministers additional portfolios held by him after he axed few ministers earlier.

While Karjol gets Textile as additional portfolio besides minor irrigation, Acharya, the Higher Education Minister, gets back 'Muzrai' (temple administration), Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy has been given Youth Affairs, Labour Minister Bacchegowda gets Sericulture and Mass Education Minister Revunaik Belamagi the Animal Husbandry Department.

    I am happy that Mr Mumtaz Ali Khan is not district In Charge minister of Chickballapur any more....So Mr Moily Mamu will have to run for his votes in next Parlimentary elections....
