Kasargod, Nov 12: In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred on Wednesday November 10 at Mannotti village in Talassery, a 66-year-old person named George killed his two-year-old granddaughter. He has been arrested by the policemen in this connection.

Reportedly, Angelo (2), daughter of Mojo, had been left behind under the child’s grandfather’s care by her parents, Mojo and Rubiya, who went to work in the morning. Angelo, her grandfather, George, and grandmother, Maggie, were at home.

The child, who was suffering from fever since a day, was under the treatment of a homoeopath. After consuming the morning quota of medicine, the child asked for more. Even as the grandfather tried to convince the child that the medicine was meant to be consumed as per the doctor’s prescription, she continued to be stubborn in demanding for more medicine. George, angered by this, grew wild, made the child to lie down on a table, and cut the arteries running through her hand. Reportedly, after seeing that the child had lost large quantity of blood and died, he tried to commit suicide.

A few neighbours, who happened to visit their home later, saw blood on the floor. They saw the child lying in a pool of blood and took her to a nearby hospital. On arrival, the doctors declared the child brought dead.

The policemen have also taken into possession the knife used by the man. It is said that George was acting like a mentally deranged person when he was arrested.
