Mangalore: FMCI Medical Officer, Dr Anand Sali, Collapses, Loses Life

Mangalore, Nov 12: Dr Anand Sali, MBBS, MS (65), collapsed near the newspaper stall outside Father Mullers Charitable Institutions (FMCI) campus in Kankanady in the city, while taking a tea break from his duty on Friday November 12.
Sali, who had earlier been in government service and had worked for K S Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte, joined FMCI on September 17, 2007, as the chief casualty medical officer. He had reported for duty today morning as usual, and during the tea break, collapsed all of a sudden. He was immediately rushed to the critical care unit of Father Muller College Hospital, where the doctors attended to him. He however, could not be saved.
Fr Denis D’Sa, Father Muller Medical College administrator, said in a release that Dr Sali was a dedicated and upright person, whose services were well-appreciated by one and all. He was a soft-spoken and able person, and had always managed the casualty department of the hospital ably. He was an able administrator and was serene in his appearance and behaviour, he added.
The administrator of FMMC, doctors and other employees, have grieved the untimely death of Dr Sali. They have also offered their deep condolences to the family members and well-wishers of Dr Sali, duly offering prayers for his soul to rest in peace.
