Udupi: UPCL Passes Reliability Test

Udupi, Nov 12: Udupi Power Corporation Ltd, which was till now generating power on experimental basis, has passed the reliability test for starting commercial production. The Reliability and Commercial Operation Test of the company was held by generating power continuously for 72 hours without any break.

The three-day operation was conducted in the presence of officials of National Thermal Power Corporation, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd and electric supply companies. After the said operation, the company has started commercial operations since Thursday November 11. With this, the unit has been declared by the officials to be fit to generate uninterrupted power henceforth, said vice president of the company Kishore Alva.
