Bantwal, Nov 11: The Yakshagana puppet show tour organized by Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata Sangh, Kasargod, in association with Infosys Foundation, was inaugurated at Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka, on Thursday November 11.
The group will tour 30 places in both Kerala and Karnataka.
Dr Prabhakar Bhat, correspondent, Rama Vidya Kendra, inaugurated the tour here on Thursday evening.
He said that everything is precious on this earth. “The presence of omnipotent God is found in His every creation. Similarly, the hands that play the puppet in various roles are invisible, while their artistic skills in presenting the puppet show is mesmerizing indeed, said Dr Prabhakar.
Karnataka Yakshagana Academy president Kumble Sundar Rao, Kalkura Foundation president S Pradip Kumar Kalkura, and Kannada Sahitya Academy former president Harikrishna Punaroor, were present on the dais.
The puppet show tour director K V Ramesh welcomed the gathering. M A Bhat delivered the introductory address. Radhakrishna Uliyatadka proposed the vote of thanks while Shivaram Kasargod compered the programme.
