Bagalkot, Nov 11 (PTI): About hundred students of a primary school at a village in Hungund taluk were taken ill today after they were given choloroquin, an anti-malarial drug.At least 30 of the affected students were taken to hospital, official sources said.
District Health Official Dr Choudhary said the children, who consumed the drug in the morning, started vomitting and were immediately given medical aid.
About 30 students, whose condition turned serious, were taken to Ilakal hospital where they are stated to be out of danger, he said.District Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Meena visited the hospital.It is suspected that the students had swallowed the tablets before taking food, which led to vomitting, sources said.
