Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Nov 10: V Tamban (52), working as an assistant sub-inspector in the town police station here, committed suicide in a lodge in Mysore, presumably on the night of Monday, by consuming poison.

Tamban, who has put in 25 years of service in the department, and who was on leave since the last six days, had reached Mysore on Saturday evening. He had hired a room in a lodge in the city the same day. When the lodge employees knocked at the room door for cleaning work on Sunday, he told them not to disturb him, as he was feeling sleepy. The doors of the room remained closed on Monday too. The lodge workers, who peeped through the window on Monday night, found the lifeless body of the person lying inside.

The doors of the room were broken open. A bottle of poison was found lying by the side of the body. The Mysore policemen said that they have recovered a suicide note from the room. A police team from here and family members of the deceased policemen left for Mysore on Tuesday morning.
