Canara Bus Operators’ Assn to Introduce Monthly Pass Scheme

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (PS/SB)

Mangalore, Nov 9: Canara Bus Operators’ Association has shown its whim towards introducing a scheme of monthly concession pass from November 15 onwards in express buses that ply on the route Mangalore-Udupi-Manipal-Kundapur. This move is taken to ease daily passengers’ burden.

Speaking to presspersons, K Rajavarma Ballal, president of Canara Bus Operators’ Association said that the daily passengers should take 40 coupons that have 30 days of validity. Concession passes are valid in all buses that display white and red stickers reading “Canara Combined Transport (CCT)” on front wind shield, he said.

He said as many as 125 buses out of 150 buses of this route have agreed to this concept and hoped that all the buses would come under this scheme in near future. As per this scheme the passengers’ bus fare will be reduced by 50%.

Passes to be obtained by submitting applications paying Rs 50 and identity card will be issued with a validity of one year. The concession pass number will be entered in the identity card every month.

Application forms will be available at Canara Bus Operators’ Association (Mangalore), Sugama Tourist (Udupi) and Durgamba Motors (Kundapur) from November 10.

Kishan Hegde, Jyothiprasad Hegde and Raghavendra Bhat among others were present.

we all proud that canara bus malakara sangha has intraduce the CCT system. but thing is that, it is not so usefull for the person who works either in mangalore or udupi.
    OUR NEEDS
    1) Apply for the all the buses including karkala route also.
    2) make availability of your office in each Station e.g Surathkal, Mulki, Padubidri etc.,
    3) Make your own website for coupon recharge purpose.
    4) At least provide alternative bus as CCT to take advantage for particularly ladies.
HOPE YOU WILL HELP THE SOUTH CANARA PERSON BY EXTENDING CCT TO ALL BUSES.

good system for all ,in this method bus owners will get some more cash, and this system will make bus conductors more upset, hope this system can be adopted by more routes so that more passengers will get benefit from this system.

Dear manjeshwar, please take train on this route, as KSRTC is also not providing the passes on this route & TRAIN travel is also CHEAPEST, you believe it or not.
