Bengaluru, Nov 9: All those who wish to join the party if they believe in Congress ideology are welcome, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Chief D K Shivakumar in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Addressing the media at the party office after warmly welcoming JD(S) leader B Devendrappa, who was defeated in the last assembly elections from Jagaluru constituency, and a large number of his followers, Shivakumar those who had left the party but still believe in the Congress ideology are welcome to rejoin if they do so unconditionally.
The defeated Congress candidate from Jagaluru H P Rajesh was also present to welcome Devendrappa, who was also accompanied by JD(S) Jagaluu Taluk Unit president K Gurusiddappa, Youth Wing leader Krishna Yadav as well as Jagaluru BJP unit president and former APMC President Rajanna and others.
The party’s committee headed by former minister and KPCC President Allum Veerabhadrappa would examine all applications of new entrants, Shivakumar said.
Answering questions, he said even the MLAs who had joined BJP as part of ‘Operation Kamala’ are welcome to return to the party if they submit their applications and the applications will be examined on merit.
Shivakumar said the KPCC will launch membership enrolment drive on a mass scale from November 14, the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru. All existing partymen also need to renew their membership by submitting an application and a fee of Rs 5 while new members have to pay a membership fee of Rs 100 each both online and offline too.
The KPCC Chief demanded that the BJP government should divulge all details pertaining to Bitcoin scandal and its investigation instead of making wild allegations. If any Congressmen are involved in the scandal, let them be hanged, he said.
