Mangalore, Nov 8: The inaugural of MARITZ Pharmaceutical Pvt ltd a bold venture by the recent batch of MBA students of AIMT, St Aloysius College, Mangalore took place at the venue of the new company at Bikarnakatte, Mangalore on Sunday November 7.


Dr Clement Suresh D’Souza, general and cancer surgeon, Fr Muller Medical College inaugurated the company. Fr Denis D’Sa,
administrator, Fr Muller Charitable Institutions conducted the blessing of the premises and wished the young entrepreneurs all the success in their maiden venture.

Fr Denzil Lobo, director, AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) was the guest of honour. He released Marvel, the wound closure drug introduced by the company.

Dr D’Souza gave an introduction on the new drug and explained how beneficial it would be for all those who undergo surgery since no stitches would be needed to close the surgical wounds.

Fr Denzil in his speech wished the alumni of AIMIT the very best. Quoting the example Dean Karmen, the innovator and entrepreneur who had to struggle a lot of achieve his goals as an entrepreneur, he told them that they had taken the road less traveled, and they will face challenges. But you all need to go ahead at the goal they envisioned in spite of all the hurdles. He appreciated their vision and wished that they one day become one of the Asia’s leading pharmaceutical distributors.

Sridev Karkala is the MD of Maritz, Melroy Elson D’Souza, the deputy general manager and Anish Veigas the executive director. All the three are alumni of AIMIT, St Aloysius College. They are supported by Ravi M, AGM-Sales, Ashok Kumar T, AGM Marketing & Operations and Ashok Shetty, executive director.
