Mangalore/Udupi: Rain Plays Spoilsport during Diwali in Coast

Mangalore, Nov 7: Rains lashed across most of the areas in the coastal districts on the first day of Diwali on Friday November 5 and the same situation prevailed on Saturday November 6 as well causing hurdles to the celebrations.

On Saturday places such as Beltangady, Bantwal, Sullia, Udupi, Karkala and Kundapur taluk experienced heavy showers in the evening. The rain was accompanied with thunder and lightening as well. In Panja-Subrahmanya road the vehicle movements were also restricted due to heavy rain.

Children were little disappointed as they were unable to burst the crackers at night due to the interference of rain.
