Tulu Koota Qatar organizes seminar on women's health

Qatar, Nov 3: In the recent times there has been a peak in the women’s hormonal issues and the onset of worries around PCOD, menopause which has created much need for awareness on the same. And the pink month of October is the perfect time to address the issue. Understanding the need in the community TuluKoota Qatar (TKQ) organized a seminar on women’s health and themed it around PCOD, Obesity Menopause and breast cancer. The event 'Let’s Talk- Seamless women’s health 101' engaged and gathered lot of attention among the women and men folk.

The session was very informative as the panelist engaged the crowd with much needed galore of perspective and knowledge. The panelist were passionate about the topic and they could captivate the crowd’s attention even when they went into details. Dr Ramya, OB, gynaecologist from HMC shared a lot of useful important information in a very easy understandable language and connected with the crowd, Dr Yughandara, radiologist from Alive Medical canter, gave a detailed knowledge of the process on mammography. Soni from Naseem Al Rabeeh for demonstrating self-testing techniques for breast cancer Young students from Birla public school showcased their Cups4change, UN project and took the crowd through process of using cups which is environment friendly and alternative to the sanitary pad. The young generation inspired the crowd and urged them to step ahead and experiment with the cups.

Many of our doubts and questions were answered without asking. Last but not the least Journey of Harini Rai (breast cancer survivor) was very motivating the crowd was moved by her courage and zeal towards life as she said in her parting words that breast cancer is just an chapter in her life and not her identity. She narrated how the medical situation was normalised by her and her family members and that supported and gave her the strength to move ahead with positivity.

The event was a grand success owing to the amazing response TKQ received in terms of great audience. The event also had lucky draw and three members received the gift vouchers. Taking ahead the environment conservation motto and spirit of Joy of giving week, TKQ presented all the Bageera owners one more Mowgli.
