Panaji, Nov 2: The statement given by Pramod Sawant, CM of Goa has given indications that BJP is eager to tie up with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) in the state. On Monday, November 1, Sawant said that like-minded parties of Goa should unite on one platform.

Sawant also said that MGP was with BJP earlier also and they should join now in order to put an end of anarchy which is seen in politics of Goa.

Responding to Sawant’s statement, Ramakrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar, leader of MGP and only MLA of the party in the present Goa assembly said that his party is willing to make alliance with any party which will give them 12 seats to contest.

In her recent visit to Goa, Mamata Banerjee had also shown eagerness to make ties with MGP. However, Dhavalikar negated the matter and said that there is no question of alliance with TMC as they have already said that they are going to contest in all the 40 seats.

It is said that Dhavalikar will meet senior BJP leaders like Nitin Gadkari, union minister and Devendra Fadnavis, incharge of BJP in the state on Tuesday to discuss matters in this regard.

Dhavalikar, who was the DCM of Goa was dropped from the cabinet of Sawant in 2019 after BJP secured full majority following the defection of 12 people, including ten from Congress and two from MGP.
