Mangaluru, Nov 1: After a local saw a leopard moving near Kumpala, Pilaru Palla within Someshwar town municipal limits, a sense of fear has gripped the town.
A local, identified as Shivaraj Ponnuswamy from Kumpala Pilaru Palla was going to the residence of his daughter from his house at about 9.30 pm when he reportedly saw a leopard crossing the road and entering bushes near his home.
Initially, Shivaraj guessed that it could be a wildcat. However, after seeing its long tail and colour, he concluded that it was a small-sized leopard. It is said that the paw marks of the animals were partially erased as the area received rainfall on that night. Some insist that it could be only a leopard while a few believe it could be a wildcat.
