Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 30: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, October 30 reported 21 new coronavirus cases and 1 death while Udupi registered 14 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 20,95,865 samples have been tested so far, out of which 19,80,411 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,454 out of which 272 are currently active.
As many as 21 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,687.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,42,370 as fine in 88,494 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,17,900 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 14 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 76,702 out of which 43 are currently active.
A total of 7 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,18,822 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 5,06,180 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
