Panaji: Goans love music, dance – vice president Venkaiah Naidu

Panaji, Oct 30: Vice president Venkaiah Naidu praised Goa for its rich literary tradition and said that he is proud to see that Konkani language is prospering in the state.

Naidu was speaking after interacting with a group of renowned Konkani and Marathi writers, film makers, folk artistes and educationists at the Raj Bhavan on Friday, October 29.

Naidu said that Goan people love dance, music, art and painting. He also urged the people to use more Konkani in their administration. He said that mother tongue connects people with their heritage and it should be used more often. He termed Goa as a heaven for tourists and said that all Indians have to visit Goa and see the splendid beauty of its nature and beaches.

Sahitya academy winners of the state were also felicitated on the occasion. The felicitated people included Prof Paryekar, Sunita Umraskar, Hema Naik, Parshanti Talpankar, R S Bhaskar and Fr Manuel Gomes.
