New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar came out with fresh revelations Wednesday saying former Indian cricket board president Sharad Pawar had offered him Rs.5 crore after which he decided to be part of the Indian Premier League(IPL) Governing Council.
Gavaskar said he did not get the written contract on the deal as he believed in Pawar's words as he was then the president of the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).
Gavaskar told NDTV that Pawar promised to arrange a meeting with BCCI chief Shashank Manohar and hoped the issue will be resolved.
Earlier, BCCI rejected Gavaskar's claims of the promised money, saying that his contract stipulated Rs.1 crore for three years and it had already been paid to him.
