Udupi: Paryaya Swamiji Oversees ‘Tulubhara’ of Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade

Udupi, Nov 4: On Wednesday November 3, ‘Tulabhara’ of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, was performed in Srikrishna Mutt here, under the supervision of Paryaya Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt. 80 kgs of one, two, five and ten rupee coins were used to weigh Heggade, near the presiding deities, Lord Srikrishna and Mukhyaprana.
Dr Heggade was later felicitated at a function organized at the Rajangan of the Mutt, by the Paryaya Swamiji. In his felicitation address, the Swamiji hailed Heggade as the ‘Dharmaraya’ of modern era, because of the emphasis he lays on following righteousness in all fields.
Speaking after accepting the felicitation, Heggade said that the people of late, are increasingly turning to religious leaders for proper guidance, having failed to get convincing direction from political leaders, towards shaping the future of the country.
Various dignitaries including MLAs, K Raghupati Bhat and Abhayachandra Jain, Anantarama Upadhya of Kadiyali temple, Lakshminarayan Asranna of Kateel temple, district president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Ambatanaya Mudrady, local municipal president, Kiran Kumar, entrepreneur, Pramod Madhwaraj, hotellier, Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, Manohar Shetty of Sairadha Developers, Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president, Pradip Kumar Kalkura, were present.
S D Pejattaya read out the citation. N K Samaga compered the programme. Diwan of Srikrishna Mutt, P Latavya Acharya, welcomed.
