Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 26: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, October 26 reported 23 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 9 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 20,65,571 samples have been tested so far, out of which 19,50,232 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,339 out of which 280 are currently active.
As many as 26 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,678.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,33,870 as fine in 88,409 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,05,763 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 9 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 76,668 out of which 51 are currently active.
A total of 14 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,09,892 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 4,88,464 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
