Moodbidri, Nov 1: It was 12.00 on Monday November 1, when Alva's Nudisiri chairperson and playwright Vaidehi’s Kannada drama ‘Nai Mari’ was staged for the first time on K V Subbanna stage at Vidhyagiri, here.
It was successful in enthralling a large number of audiences. Although, Vaidehi was a little tired since the inaugural of Alva's Nudisiri on Friday October 29, she stepped onto the stage with all the enthusiasm on the day.
“Many thanks, you have enacted the roles superbly which has inspired me to author plays,’ said Vaidehi amidst thundering applause.
Alva's Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva and MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik appreciated the playwright Vaidehi and the director of the play.
It’s significant that Vaidehi was present at the venue since Sunday early morning up to 12.12 am on Monday almost 18 hours. It was a treat for her eyes to witness a drama troupe staging her play on the occasion.
Dana Dangoora, Kannada play by playwright Vaidehi was staged by a children’s troupe on the concluding ceremony of Alva's Nudisiri. It was presented by Ranga Mane Kala Kendra of Sullia. The veteran director Jeevanram Sullia directed both the plays.
Sullia also presented a one-act play based on the drama written by Vaidehi. It was an attempt to convey the aspirations of playwright Vaidehi by staging of her plays. "The strong determination and burning desire to achieve a set goal will fulfill the dream," said Vaidehi.
