Udupi: Inter- Dist Invitational Chess Tourney - Pranjal, Prajwal Emerge Champions

Udupi, Nov 1: Pranjal Of MIT emerged champion of the Inter district invitational chess tournament conducted by Udupi Chess Academy at Hotel Durga International here on Sunday October 31, while Prajwal B C of St Mary's English Medium High School was the winner of the U-15 category.


While in the former category, Yaswanth Gudisa of MIT, Deepak M C of Udupi secured second and third place, respectively, Narendra Kini ,student of Milagress  English Medium High  school, Kallianpur and
Karthik Prabhu of St Mary's School, Udupi were the runners-up in the latter.

Melonie Natasha Lewis of Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur and Afsan of St Mary's School secured the next two places.

Amar Prabhu won the first place in U-13 category, while Pradyumna and Deepak Nayak secured second and third, respectively. Nachiketh ofUudupi won first place in U-9 category whereas Akhil from Kota secured second.

Organizer and sponsor of the tournament, Harish Kumar Of Udupi Chess Academy  distributed the prizes to the winners. More than 30 players participated in the event.
