Udupi, Oct 31: “The committed activists are the assets of the party, and if any of its office-bearers get greedy for power, the popularity of that party will suffer”, said Karnataka state Congress spokesperson M G Hegde.
He was delivering the keynote address at the convention of party activists and installation ceremony of new office-bearers of Brahmavar Block Congress Committee, in a function held at Mother Palace auditorium, Brahmavar, on Sunday October 31.
“Although the BJP-led state administration has an agenda of development, it has been engaged in undemocratic ways of governance with devastating results”, alleged Hegde.
Former state minister Jayaprakash Hegde inaugurated the programme. Congress leader Pramod Madwaraj presided. Rajesh Shetty Birti took charge as the new president of Brahmavar Block Congress Committee.
Former MLA P Basavaraj, Pratapchandra Shetty, zilla panchayat member B Bhujanga Shetty, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Udayachandra Shetty, the District Congress Committee (DCC) past president M A Gafoor, DCC former president Udayakumar Shetty, state women Congress secretary Sarala Kanchan, president Veronica Cornelio, Brahmavar Youth Congress president Nithyanand Kemman, Perdoor Shantaram Sooda, zilla panchayat member Shanker Kunder, Congress backed taluk panchayat members, Brahmavar gram panchayat president and vice-president were the chief guests on the occasion.
