Bengaluru, Oct 21: A miscreant who entered a house in broad daylight stabbed a lady found alone inside her house, and escaped after setting her body on fire. This incident happened in Banashankari here on Tuesday October 19.
The lady who was murdered in this way was Afrina Khanum (28) from Yarab Nagar in Banashankari. Her husband, Lalu Khan, has been taken into custody by the police.
The murder happened in the afternoon on Tuesday and the people saw smoke billowing out of Khanum's residence at 6 pm that day. When they went to check, they found out about the murder.
The police feel that people known to the lady had committed this act and they are looking for the culprits.
Lalu Khan who works in the timber yard in Gurappana Palya had married Afrina Khanum eight years back. The couple has two children. Afrina did tailoring jobs at home. The couple had taken a house in Yarab Nagar on lease and lived there with their children.
It is gathered that Lalu Khan developed suspicion about his wife’s character, and quarrelled with her often during the last six to seven months on this issue. On Tuesday morning too, the couple had a fight after which the husband had left for work. The police said that they came to know that a person known to the family visited their house at 2 pm on Tuesday.
