Byndoor, Oct 6: “The education sector has not reached perfection despite government efforts of several years. There should be changes in education. Many children do not have the freedom to utilize their intelligence yet. Children should have the opportunities to obtain education according to their wishes and choices. It is our view that value based education with scientific approach should be given priority,” said Karnataka minister of primary and high school education, B C Nagesh.
He was speaking after inaugurating a new building constructed at a cost of Rs 1.20 crore at Navunda government pre University College on Wednesday Cotober 6.
“The government of prime minister Modi tries hard to bring about progress in the sector of education. Gandhiji has said that the country needs local policy. There is scarcity of teachers and classrooms at all the places including in this college. The teachers should make use of old students to fill the gaps,” he said.
Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said that the prime minister is cleaning the entire system by Swatcha Bharath scheme. “Even the last child in the society should obtain education. There are 250 primary schools, 30 high schools and 13 pre university colleges in Byndoor. A strong foundation for education is necessary,” he said.
District education deputy director N H Nagoora, pre university education deputy director Maruti, Vedamurthy, high school development committee president Manohar Shetty, PWD executive engineer Durgadas, college principal Arun Nayak, vice principal Shashikala Nayak and others were present.
College development committee vice president Rajashekar Navunda welcomed. Ganesh compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks.
