Bengaluru, Oct 2: People keep hearing about defrauding people by offering the lure of getting sites, flats, houses, villa etc at reasonable prices. It is difficult to believe that people have also been able to make believe that they can get sites on the moon.
A woman, who has been cheated on, has filed a complaint at the city cyber crime police station here. She has explained that she got to know a lady, Uska Abubakar, through a social website. "She claimed herself to be a cryptocurrency expert. After she offered the lure of making a quick, handsome profit in a short time and enticed me to invest Rs 45,700, I agreed and transferred Rs 25,000 through Google Pay. I have not received any dividend from her. When I tried to contact her, I could not," the lady stated.
The woman said that she hit the trail of the bank account to which the said amount was transferred through Google Pay. "The account was in ICICI Bank in the name of Akash Narayan. I came to know that he had fleeced many in this way. I also understand that he had collected money from several persons by making them believe that he would be getting them sites on the moon," the woman said in her complaint.
The police said that based on this complaint, they have registered a case and started an investigation.
