Kasargod: Scooterist hits wild boar, succumbs to injuries

Kasargod, Oct 2: A man succumbed to injuries, after the scooter he was riding hit a wild boar on Karmamthodi road near Mulleria on Friday October 1.

The deceased is identified as Kunhambu Nair (60) from Kavungal in Karmamthodi.

It is said that while Nair was returning to his residence from the market, his scooter hit a wild boar which appeared suddenly in the middle of the road. After hitting the wild boar, the two-wheeler tumbled and Kunhambu sustained severe injuries.

Locals immediately rushed him to a hospital in Mulleria. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. But, as he failed to respond to the treatment, Kunhambu breathed his last in the evening. Even the wild boar died on the spot in the mishap. The forest department officials and police rushed to the spot.

A case has been registered at Adoor police station.

    I can remeber long ago driving along with my husband in Kasaragod log ago We were driving through a remote forest area and suddenly a bunch of wild boars came in Luckily we escaped We were in a jeep and nothing happened Just be careful when driving in forested areas

    After 2014 even wild boars and other wild animals are frustrated as they dont get to eat anything in forest because the forest chors sponsored by the saffron party are eating up their food..more difficult days are ahead as wild boars, cheetahs, elephants, monkeys are all attacking human beings under the saffron govt....all have to unite and remove this useless govt from power...

    Sad to hear people die in this type of tragedy. We do not know how death comes to us. Wild boars are so dangerous. It is destroying so many grown things by farmers. Since banned to kill it roams freely

    Shreyas K:Mangalore,if Boar had not crossed any roads before 2014,or noone saw it crossing ,makes no sense and matters.Mostly wild boars are coming out mostly in darkness .One has to be careful during driving in dark and forest areas.suppose if any wild animals come across stop suddenly till they cross or make sound.we too have same problem in here in dark times .Either wild boars or deers cross across.They are at that time in a high time .They dont realize anything else.There are people who think they can kill them simply by running over them,but reality is different.So be careful in forest area.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family.

    John Mangalore when Germany will have problems with wild boars ,there is a solution parat.They will be killed from time to time.Only in winter.one shouldnt kill boars when having small ones.
