Kasargod, Oct 2: A man succumbed to injuries, after the scooter he was riding hit a wild boar on Karmamthodi road near Mulleria on Friday October 1.
The deceased is identified as Kunhambu Nair (60) from Kavungal in Karmamthodi.
It is said that while Nair was returning to his residence from the market, his scooter hit a wild boar which appeared suddenly in the middle of the road. After hitting the wild boar, the two-wheeler tumbled and Kunhambu sustained severe injuries.
Locals immediately rushed him to a hospital in Mulleria. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. But, as he failed to respond to the treatment, Kunhambu breathed his last in the evening. Even the wild boar died on the spot in the mishap. The forest department officials and police rushed to the spot.
A case has been registered at Adoor police station.
