Puttur, Sep 30: After getting information that a minor Hindu girl had been abducted by Siddique from Koltige Kuntikan in the taluk and kept her in his home, the locals got together in large numbers in front of his house on Wednesday September 29. This development gave rise to a tense situation in the area.
The family members of the youth did not open the door even when police personnel of Bellare station arrived. This gave rise to suspicion. The police waited for some time and undertook a search after the door was opened. They failed to find the girl there. People who had gathered there alleged that the girl had been shifted elsewhere. The police then dispersed the people who had come together there, took Siddique to the police station where he was questioned.
