Dayanand Pai Plans to Open Indian University in Kuwait

Kuwait, Oct 18: Karnataka's well-known entrepeneur and philanthropist P Dayananda Pai during his vist to Kuwait met Abdulla Al Sabeg, a prominent Kuwaiti entrepreneur at Radisson Blu Hotel to discuss the possibilty of a joint venture to open an Indian University on Kuwaiti soil.
The meeting was held in the presence of community leader and social worker Pascal B Pinto and media persons James Paul and Mohandas Kamath .
Later in the day, Pai met Ajay Malhotra, ambassador of India to Kuwait at the Indian Embassy and expressed his wish to set up a world class university to cater to the need of the students in Kuwait, especially of the Indian community.
The ambassador expained the formal procedures involved and elaborated on the hurdles to the process but promised his full support and encouraged Pai to go ahead with his venture.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Pai said that Kuwait has an extremely good opportunity to exploit the Indian education sector. Leading educationalists, with whom he had meetings on the issue, have also agreed to extend a helping hand in the project, he said.
"I am seriously planning to open an Indian university to Kuwait. My efforts will be on and hopefully we will succeed," said a confident Pai after his meetings with several Indian representatives and local entrepeneurs.
