Mangaluru, Sep 27: A photograph has gone viral in which chief officer of Kotekar town panchayat made his young son sit in the chair on the dais in the government programme of Civic workers’ Day celebration that was held recently.
Prabhakar M P, chief officer of Kotekar town panchayat is the person who has committed this blunder in the government programme that was held at the office. Every government programme has its own protocol. But this officer has thrown all the rules to the wind and made his son sit on the chair, though the staff of town panchayat, civic workers and public are below the dais. This has caused huge disappointment among the public.
Giving clarification on the issue, Prabhakar said, “I bought my son to town panchayat office as there was no one at home. It is true that I made my son sit on the chair as he was disturbing the programme. I have not done with any bad intention. As he is a child, I made him sit near me.”
Dada Saheb, protocol officer said, “In government functions there is a definite protocol for sitting on the dais. In the programmes pertaining to the district this is followed strictly. This is not followed in programmes that are held in panchayat offices. However, making a young child sit on the dais is wrong. If any complaint is received, action will be initiated.”
