Mangaluru, Sep 25: Amid the tussle between the BJP-ruled Karnataka government and Hindutve groups over the demolition of a temple in Mysuru and the subsequent arrest of Hindu Maha Sabha leaders for threatening the chief minister, the Karnataka state (youth) president of Akhil Bharathiya Hindu Maha Sabha Rajesh Pavitran on Saturday September 25 alleged that the ruling BJP has been making all types of efforts to 'finish' Hindu Maha Sabha by booking 'false' cases against Hindu leaders.
Addressing a press meet here, Pavitran said, "Recently, after a press meet was held by the Hindu Maha Sabha general secretary Dharmendra against the state government on the demolition of the temple, the police booked a case against the leaders of Hindu Maha Sabha leaders on charges of forgery and cheating. Moreover, the party workers who were not present in the press meet were also booked in the case unnecessarily," he said.
"Booking false cases and sending Hindu leaders behind the bars clearly shows the anti-Hindu policy of the ruling BJP government. BJP is another face of Congress. They do not want Hindutva, even they have started to appease minorities. BJP which came to power in the name of Hindutva has failed to bring a complete ban on cow slaughter. If there is complete ban on cow slaughter, then why do you need slaughterhouses?" he questioned.
"Harassment of Hindu leaders and cases of love jihad are taking place because of bad administration by the ruling BJP party. The BJP is busy appeasing minorities the same way as Congress did during elections. The ruling government is making all types of efforts to finish the Hindu leaders," he alleged.
Speaking on the Mysuru temple demolition, Pavitran said, "The entire country, state, and the Hindu community is watching that the BJP, which came to power in the name of Hindutva, is involved in enforcing anti-Hindu policies. To divert the attention of the people, cases have been booked under charges of forgery and cheating against Hindu Maha Sabha party workers."
On the authenticity of the Hindu Maha Sabha led by him, Pavitran said, "If our Hindu Maha Sabha was not the original one, then the police would have served a notice first."
"Hindu Maha Sabha is a party under the ambit of the Indian Constitution recognized by the Election Commission. When a leader of fake Hindu Maha Sabha filed a complaint (referring to Lohith Kumar Suvarna), our party leaders are booked by the police. The person who claims to be the president of Hindu Maha Sabha had been sacked from the party in 2019. There is a record of it. Later, he proclaimed himself as the state president of Hindu Maha Sabha. Lohith Suvarna filed a complaint out of grudge by joining hands with the BJP," he added.
Nithin, Prasad, Chethan, Rajesh and Kavitha were present.
