Benglauru, Sep 25: BJP legislator from Vijayapura, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, in an interesting development, claimed that within a week, there will be a major change in the state. Without giving any detail, he asked the media persons to wait for the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai to take this major decision.
Yatnal was speaking to media persons after taking part in a programme held at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday September 24.
Yatnal dismissed the notion that Bommai is a puppet in the hands of former chief minister B S Yediyurappa.
"Bommai has the capacity and experience to take independent decisions. The decision he will be taking within a week will prove this point. Just wait and watch," Yatnal said.
The controversial BJP leader who has often locked horns with party leaders and faced discplinary action, said that Yediyurappa was made to step down as chief minster for his failure to provide reservation to the Panchamasali community under 2A category as he was adversely affected by the 'curse' of that community.
"After becoming minister, Murugesh Niran has not been taking part in the reservation struggle of the community. I an not seeking the post of minister. I will continue to be involved with the fight for reservation. No one can stop me from getting coronated on a day somewhere in the future," he stated with confidence.
He also said that Bommai has promised to do justice to Panchamasali and other communities within two to three months and has asked him to wait. "We will continue to carry on out agitation for reservation," he stressed.
