Kasargod: LeT Suspects Arrested in Connection with Bangalore Blasts Case

Kasargod, Oct 16: Anti-Terrorist Squad of Karnataka Police has arrested a suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba militant allegedly involved in various cases, including the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blasts.
Suspected LeT ’commandant’ Ibrahim (48) was arrested on Friday October 15 night at Badiyadukka in Kasargod district on specific information collected by the ATS, police said.
Another suspect, Umar Farooq, was also arrested in Ajmer Rajasthan. He will be brought to Bangalore shortly.
Hailing from Vellimunda of Wayanad district of Kerala, Ibrahim had been residing at Badiyadukka for the last one-and-a-half years, police at Kasargod said.
He was also allegedly involved in the Ernakulam Collectorate bomb blast in July last year and also in the recruitment of youths for militant activities in Kashmir, police said. None was injured in the Collectorate bomb blast that was triggered by an improvised explosive device.
The ATS has taken Ibrahim to Bangalore, police said.
