Puttur, Sep 23: A man who went missing for more than a month and was rumoured to be in north India and has links with terrorist organizations is negated by the police.
As per the details a complaint was filed on August 8 by Fathima (34), wife of Mohammed Rafiq Khan, resident of Medarabettu apartment in 34th Nekkiladi village of the taluk saying that she had married Khan, owner of A to Z garage near Raghavendra Math of Nekkiladi village in 2019. It was his second marriage. After marriage, Fathima was living with her husband in Medarabettu apartments. On July 12, Khan went to Bengaluru saying that he has to buy spare parts for vehicles. Then he called Fathima on July 18 and said that he will reach Puttur by morning bus and cut the phone. However, he did not return back to Puttur and kept his mobile phone in switched off mode.

A case was filed at Uppinangady police station as per the details given by complainant Fathima, wife of Khan.
Khan was traced by the police on September 22 and made him to speak to his wife Fathima through video call. Fathima confirmed to the cops that the person who spoke to her on the video is indeed her husband. Khan assured the police that he will return back to home after a month. So the police closed the case accordingly. However, recently it is being broadcast on TV, social media and in local newspapers that missing Khan has contact with terrorists who are arrested in North India. When the matter was investigated by the police it has come to light that this accusation is false.
