Puttur, Sep 8: The police have arrested four more persons relating to the obstruction of the movement of the 'Grama Swarajya Ratha' that was taken around on the occasion of the celebration of 75 years of Indian independence within Kabaka gram panchayat limits.
The persons now arrested are Naushad, Muhammed Haris, Muhammed Tausif, and Samshuddin, all from Kabaka. They had filed for anticipatory bail but the fifth additional district court here had rejected these applications.
The arrests were made under the leadership of town police station inspector Gopa Naik and sub-inspector Sutesh, under the guidance of district superintendent of police, Rishikesh Sonawane and Puttur deputy commissioner of police Dr Gana P Kumar. They have been remanded to judicial custody.
