Karkala, Aug 30: A 19-year-old ITI student ended his life here on Monday August 30. The deceased was Aneesh (19) son of Sadashiva, resident of Neere village here.

Aneesh reportedly took the extreme step when his parents were away.

The deceased was pursuing an automobile course at Mytech ITI, Hiriadka. He had an exam on Monday. His relative, neighbour Ashik was to accompany him to appear for the exam at 10 am. As Aneesh did not go for the exam and did not pick the phone even at 11 am, Ashik went to the house of Aneesh and knocked on his bedroom door. As Aneesh did not open the door, he peeped through the window and was shocked to see Aneesh hanging from the shawl tied to the ceiling fan hook.

Aneesh was brought down and rushed to Byloor government hospital. The doctor in the hospital declared him dead. The police have concluded that he ended his life as he was distressed in life. A police case under registration No. UDR 25/2021 under section 174 CRPC was registered at Karkala town police station on the basis of a complaint from Aneesh’s father Sadashiva in this connection.

Aneesh is survived by parents and brother.
