Sullia, Aug 21: After getting information that two Hindu girls were travelling to Bengaluru with a man from another religion, Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) workers blocked the bus and made enquiries with passengers. The incident happened on the night of Thursday. The issue was referred to the police where the matter was amicably settled.
Two young ladies from Bengaluru had boarded a bus to Bengaluru on Thursday night. A man, Naushad from near Bellare was also travelling by the same us. It is said that the girls were seated on one side in the front row while Naushad was seated on the seat located on the opposite side.
When the bus reached Kumbra, the youth, instead of alighting, reportedly bought a ticket to Bengaluru. Someone travelling by the said bus presumed that Naushad was going to Bengaluru along with the two ladies to have fun, and alerted HJV workers. Thereafter, five to six young men from Puttur intercepted the bus at Anegundi.
The issue was referred to Sullia police station. The police, who questioned the youth and the ladies, came to know that the women had been converted into Islam from Hinduism. Thereafter the matter was settled and the concerned were allowed to go.
