Mangalore: Dr Ratidevi Feted – Palemar Lauds Her Unselfish Services

Mangalore, Sep 27: District in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, inaugurated a function organized at Town Hall here on Sunday 26, to felicitate well-known obstetrician, Dr Ratidevi. Speaking on the occasion, he said it is the duty of everyone to identify those who serve the society unselfishly, thereby encouraging others to follow suit.

On the occasion, Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor of Manipal University, released the book, ‘Sahaja Herige Mattu Caesarean Herige (Normal Delivery and Caesarean Section), authored by Dr Ratidevi, abd recollected excellent services rendered by her in the capacity of a professor in Kasturba Medical College, and honorary medical officer of Lady Goschen Hospital, besides being an expert in obstetrics and gynaecology. 

MLA, N Yogish Bhat, who presided over the function, released ‘Meru’ a congratulatory work on the works and achievements of Dr Ratidevi. He hailed her for the illustrious services rendered by her as the honorary medical officer of Lady Goschen Hospital to the common people. City mayor, Rajani Dugganna, who participated as chief guest of the function, conferred the title, ‘Vaidyaratna’ on Dr Ratidevi, and profusely appreciated her for her excellent services to the needy.

Acknowledging the felicitation and the ‘Vaidyaratna’ title conferred on her, Dr Ravidevi said that this was the most memorable day in her life.

Harikrishna Punaroor, president of the Felicitation Committee, welcomed. On behalf of her fans, Ratidevi was honoured by M Shahanaz and Priya Maria Vaz. Veteran writer, Manorama M Bhat, introduced the work authored by Dr Ratidevi.

Pradip Kumar Kalkura and K A Rohini were present. Sudhakar Pejawar proposed the vote of thanks.
