Bengaluru, Aug 19: Vijayanagara MLA Anand Singh, who reportedly is peeved at the tourism, ecology and environment portfolios to him allocated to him in the Bommai ministry, is in Delhi. He hopes to convince the top brass to allot to him high profile forest, energy or PWD department. However, indications are that he might not be able to convince them.
With the hope that he would be able to have his way, the minister has not entered his office so far although the departments were allotted to him over ten days back. He had prolonged discussions with the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, without any positive result. It appears that the BJP leaders prefer to overlook him for the present.
People wonder whether he will while away his time without getting actively involved with his departments, duly left high and dry like Ramesh Jarkiholi. When he was the minister in the Congress - JD(S) coalition government in the state, Ramesh Jarkiholi rarely visited Vidhana Soudha and refrained from attending cabinet meetings. He did not even attend the assembly session held at Suvarna Soudha in his home district Belagavi. He however was angry on other issues rather than portfolio allocation. Now Anand Singh is following in his footsteps, political analysts believe.
