Bengaluru, Aug 17: Uploading of GPS and Aadhaar Card link for allotment of 1.67 houses constructed under Rural Housing Schemes must be done within 15 days, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai directed the Housing Department officials in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Reviewing the functioning of the Housing Department, the Chief Minister noted that construction of 4.09 lakh houses were under progress in various rural housing schemes in the State.
The Chief Minister asked the Housing Department officials to immediately write to the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department officials on the Aadhaar Card linkage and GPS uploading.
He expressed unhappiness at the slackness in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojane (Urban) and directed the officials to pool the funds under the SC and ST sub-plans from their respective departments and take steps for completion of the construction.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to expedite construction of Chief Minister’s Multi-Storeyed Housing Scheme.
He also wanted the department officials to take immediate steps to identify the beneficiaries for construction of 5 lakh houses under various housing schemes.
Bommai asked the officials to ensure that compensation payable for the damages to houses due to heavy rains and floods must be released without delay.
Housing Minister V Somanna, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad, Secretary V Ponnuraj, Housing Department Secretary Mohammed Mohsin, Finance Department Secretary P C Jaffer and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Earlier in the morning, the Chief Minister visited the photo exhibition on former Chief Minister KengalHanumanthaiah. The former Chief Minister’s daughter Vijayalakshmi Thimmaiah accompanied the Chief Minister.
He also received petitions from the public at his residence in the City.
