Mangalore, Sep 25: The girls’ team (under-14 category) of Sacred Hearts Higher Primary School, Kulshekar won the district level football tournament organized by educational department at Swaraj Maidan, recently.
In the finals they defeated the team from Moodbidri, 1.0. The only goal scorer was their captain Trinette F D’Souza. Before entering the finals they defeated Beltangady Taluk in the quarter finals - 4.0, the goal scorers were Trinette F D’Souza (3 goals) and Shirley S Menezes (1 goal). In the semi-finals they defeated Mangalore Taluk (rural) in the penalty shoot-out 3-1, the goal scorers were Trinette, Shirley and Apoorva Shetty. They will represent Dakshina Kannada district in the state level Football Tournament to be held at Chamrajnagar, Mysore.
Both boys and girls (under-14 category) of Sacred Hearts Higher Primary School and girls (under 17 category) of Sacred Hearts’ High School, Kulshekar have won the district level net ball tournament held at Vittla P U College, recently.
The players who bagged the individual awards in the tournament include Maclean D Souza- Best Shooter, Rayner Fernandes- Best All Rounder, Trinette F D Souza - Best Shooter Award(Girls category), Shreya Monteiro- Best all Rounder(Girls category) and Kajol- Best Shooter (under 17-girls category).
Now the winning students are representing the district in the state level net ball tournament which is being held at Davangere.
