Beltangady, Aug 12: Ln Rajiv D Gowda, the newly elected president of prestigious Lions Club, Beltangady, that has a long history of service and has achieved first place in the district, passed away due to heart attack on Thursday August 12.

He was installed as Lions club president at Beltangady Vani educational institute auditorium on July 21 in the presence of Lions district deputy governor Dr Melwin.

Ln Rajiv D Gowda was down to earth and had actively indulged in Gowdara Yane Okkaligara Seva Sangha and other organizations. He was an excellent farmer and was an example of hard work.

He fell sick all of a sudden at home today. He was immediately rushed to Benaka Hospital, Ujire. The doctor, who examined him there, suggested shifting him to Mangaluru for additional treatment. He was rushed to Mangaluru by Arogya Raksha ambulance of Hameed. But he died.

His mortal remains are being brought to his residence at Dharmasthala.
