Panaji: Primary school teacher booked for disrobing female students

Panaji, Aug 12: A teacher of a private primary school at Bethora was booked following a complaint lodged by a Margao-based women NGO for disrobing female students. The accused, however, was arrested only late Wednesday evening.

'Goenchea Bailancho Ekvott' the NGO lodged a complaint against the teacher and his father-in-law, who is chairman of the school society after which the teacher was booked, Ponda DySP Nelson Albuquerque said. As evidence, the NGO has also submitted a video clip along with the complaint.

In the clip, the teacher is seen removing clothes of female students in front of the chairman. Albuquerque said

The police officer said that the act amounts to outraging modesty of the girls and the accused has been booked under section 354 B (disrobing the victim) of IPC, 8 of Goa Children's Act and Sections 8 and 12 of POCSO.
