Bengaluru, Aug 6: The state government on Friday August 6, issued guidelines for the night and weekend curfew which will be in place from Friday.
Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai after reviewing the covid-19 situation with officers and health experts, issued the order. As per the reports, experts suggested additional containment measures to be imposed in the light of upcoming festival season to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
As per the order the night curfew will be imposed from 9 pm to 5 am in the state. There shall be weekend curfew in the districts bordering Maharashtra (Belagavi, Bidar, Vijaypura and Kalburagi) and Kerala (Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar) from Friday 9 pm to Monday 5 am.
Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy and milk booths, and animal fodder will be allowed to function from 5 am to 2 pm. Unnecessary movement of public is strictly prohibited.
All gatherings including, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited. Marriages are allowed involving strictly 100 people adhering to the covid-19 guidelines. Cremations/funerals will be allowed with 20 people. Place of worships, temples, mosques, churches gurudwaras and other places are allowed to open and related activities pertaining to the places of worship permitted strictly adhering to the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. However, jatras, temple festivals, procession and congregations are not allowed, states the order.
