Udupi: Justice Mamtaz of Mulki becomes first Muslim woman district magistrate in state

Udupi, Aug 6: Justice Mamtaz is nominated as the new district magistrate. Earlier, Mamtaz was serving as junior law officer/ADP of the district. 

In the examinations that were held for the position of judges in February-March this year Mamtaz secured first rank among the 12 people who got selected. In addition, Mamtaz holds the unique distinction of being the first Muslim woman, who got selected as district magistrate. 

 

Justice Mamtaz is the daughter of Atijamma and Abdul Rahiman couple of Mulki origin. She completed her primary and secondary education in Punaroor and graduated in law from SDM College in Mangaluru. Mamtaz did her post-graduation from Mysore Open University. 

Mamtaz was selected as the assistant public prosecutor in the JMFC court of Bhatkal in 2010. Later, she was shifted to Udupi JMFC. In 2018, Mamtaz got promoted as ADP to the district SP office of Udupi.

    some bhaktas are trying to gain political mileage in this issue..BJP has not done anything but Mumraz has scored the highest and made the bolti bandh of other people..So they had to give her.. Congratulations justice..keep going..and give neutral decisions. Dont budge under the pressure of saffron guys.
